Eurotrip (No Spoilers)

Well, this is the LAMB MOTM selection, otherwise I probably never would have even bothered.

Guy graduates high school. Guy's girl dumps him for a punked out Matt Damon(!). Guy freaks out when he thinks his German male pen pal wants to seduce him. In a drunken stupor, Guy tells off German Pen Pal, who turns out to be a really hot girl. Guy realizes his stupid mistake next morning, but Hot German Pen Pal has blocked his email. Instead of doing the obvious and getting a new email that isn't blocked by Hot German Pen Pal, Guy decides to spend loads of money and ditch an internship to go to Germany to look for Hot German Pen Pal and apologize. Idiot BFF tags along with Guy all over Europe. Typical teenage toilet humor ensues.

I might have liked this movie 10 years ago, around the same time I thought American Pie was a classic, but not now. I know it's no Shawshank, and doesn't come close to trying to be, but all the jokes and gags have been done before, but with each new teen comedy such as this one, they just try to push the envelope a little further on the crude humor. Every single plot point is a convoluted set up for something ridiculous and unbelievable to happen down the road. There's just nothing original left when it comes to the teen comedy, I don't think. So I'm curious as to why Hollywoodland bothers to keep making them, not that it's not obvious (Hint: $$$).

That's not to say I didn't laugh at all during Eurotrip. I admit the high school girl inside my head (I call her Bambi) chuckled on several occasions, but they were cheap laughs that I promptly forgot about after hitting the stop button on my remote. It's nothing worth remembering. Not like American Pie. Or even Road Trip, for that matter.
